May Day

Happy May Day. In France today, some women will wear lily of the valley in their hair. Others will pick the flower and present bouquets of it to loved ones or sell them by the roadside for charities. This may be part of a somewhat limited commerce, since this is also the French equivalent of Labor Day.

May 1 used to be more of a holiday in the U.S. Read about it in Nosferatu to Primavera...

...and also learn about Walpurgis night - the one you just survived if you are reading this - when "all evil things of earth and air and water held revel."
