Bela's Birthday

Bela Lugosi would be 128 years old today were he alive (or undead, more likely at 128). Poor, typecast Bela - he's still Dracula to me, despite Christopher Lee, Gary Oldman and a few others who've roamed the celluloid night. See our salutes to Lugosi in 2009, 2008 and 2007.



Last year I found this light-up blow molded Halloween decoration of Lugosi, about 42" tall and made by Union Products in 1998. You don't see many blow molds in stores these days; nylon inflatables having taken over their market niche.
