Bela Lugosi, born Béla Ferenc Dezső Blaskó in Lugos (now part of Romania), would have been 129 years old this October 20. He would later take his stage name from that of his home town.
Also, The Universal film, "Dracula", is now 80 years old, having been released on February 12, 1931. Next May marks the 115th anniversary of the publication of Bram Stoker's book. April 20, 2012 will be the 100th anniversary of Stoker's death.

I enjoy paying tribute to Mr. Lugosi and Mr. Stoker in my own way.

Some years, I set alight this Lugosi-shaped beacon in my attic window on October 20.
