Charles Phoenix and the Astro-Weenie Christmas Tree (donut version)

Some people see odd things in old pictures and leave well enough alone, but not entertainer and mid-century aficionado Charles Phoenix. Some years ago he happened across a photographic slide from the 50s or 60s that showed a foil-covered cone with Hors d'oeuvres stuck in. He dubbed it the Astro-Weenie Christmas Tree and set about making them, even showing them on talk shows. At the 2014 Denver Modernism Show I ran into Charles for the fifth or so time and he had a pastry version of the tree with him. As to his pose, there were go-go girls in the vicinity, so, ya know...
